Enchanted Kingdom, the Philippines’ only world-class theme park, marked its 11th year of participation in the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela program by turning over two refurbished kindergarten classrooms to Caingin Elementary School in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The initiative is part of Enchanted Kingdom’s “School of Enchantment” program, which aims to blend entertainment and education to provide engaging learning experiences.

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide school maintenance program that mobilizes education stakeholders to prepare public schools for class openings. This year’s theme is “Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa.”

Since 2012, Enchanted Kingdom has refurbished a total of 14 kindergarten classrooms in nearby schools. For the Caingin Elementary School project, the theme park’s maintenance personnel repaired and upgraded the classrooms’ lighting and electrical systems and added furniture and shelves. Their visual artists painted the classroom walls with characters and core values from Enchanted Kingdom.

Enchanted Kingdom president and chairperson Cesar Mario Mamon expressed the park’s commitment to expand its involvement in Brigada Eskwela and to offer more “magical and educational experiences” beyond traditional classrooms.

“Education is vital in our future plans because we want to provide an alternative classroom — that when you go to Enchanted Kingdom, students will be able to appreciate and learn about different subjects,” Mamon said.

In a separate meeting, Enchanted Kingdom officials affirmed their support for the Department of Education’s plans and programs to Education Secretary Sonny Angara, Santa Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas and officials from the Schools Division Office of Santa Rosa City.

The turnover ceremony was attended by Santa Rosa City Vice Mayor Arnold Arcillas, along with Schools Division Superintendent Hereberto Jose Miranda, Education Program supervisor Maribel De Vera, Cluster III Public Schools District Supervisor Soledad Baylon, Barangay Caingin captain Edwin Servo, Caingin Elementary School principal Guadalupe Factoriza, School Parent-Teacher Association president Josephine Mandala, teachers, parents and students.
