To mark the 50th anniversary of Philippine-China relations and rekindle their shared history, the iconic Jones Bridge in Binondo was illuminated in vibrant lights.

For First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, Jones Bridge is “glowing.”

“Jones Bridge is aglow once more -- not just with light, but with life,” she wrote on social media.

“It now shines in the heart of Binondo, rekindling the magic of our beloved Chinatown,” she said.

Complementing one of her key projects—the rehabilitation of the Pasig River—Mrs. Marcos said the area now shines brightly.

Fans of the First Lady shared their insights on the occasion and the bridge.

“The lighting of Jones Bridge is a beautiful way to celebrate our history. It’s great to see the government recognizing these milestones,” one user wrote.

“Reviving historic districts is essential for preserving our cultural heritage. This initiative is a step in the right direction,” another commented.

The First Lady extended an invitation to the public to experience the scenic Pasig River and historic Binondo in Manila.

“I invite you to take a stroll, soak in the beauty, and support the local shops that give this place its soul,” she said.

Jones Bridge was illuminated through the efforts of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) whom Mrs. Marcos thanked for being “true partners” in preserving the rich heritage of Filipino Chinatown.

“Let’s keep the spirit of Binondo burning bright,” she said.
