From matinee idol to first-time feature film director, Alden Richards—known offscreen as Richard R. Faulkerson Jr. — adds another milestone to his evolving career. His directorial debut, Out of Order, has been officially selected to compete at the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) in Vietnam, running from 29 June to 5 July 2025.

The film marks a pivotal moment for Richards, who has long expressed a desire to expand his creative voice beyond acting. Now, as he steps behind the camera, his vision takes center stage on one of Asia’s rising platforms for cinematic excellence.

Produced by Viva Films and Myriad Entertainment Corporation, Out of Order stars Richards himself alongside an impressive ensemble led by veteran actor Nonie Buencamino and rising star Heaven Peralejo. The film also features powerful performances from Soliman Cruz, Andrea del Rosario, Joyce Ching, Nicco Manalo, Francine Garcia, and Yayo Aguila.

Co-written by Richards with Ryan Evangelista, Randy Villanueva, and Atty. Karen Lustica, the film explores complex human relationships and moral ambiguity against the backdrop of a society grappling with disorder. Its title, Out of Order, points to personal disarray, institutional dysfunction, and the pursuit of redemption.

The film’s top-tier creative team includes Eric Joven as cinematographer, Melvin Lacerna as production designer, Vanessa Ubas De Leon as editor, and acclaimed composer Teresa Barrozo for the musical score. Sound design is by Lamberto Casas Jr. and Alex Tomboc, ensuring a textured and immersive cinematic experience.

Executive producer Vic Del Rosario Jr. heads the production team, with Vincent Del Rosario III, Veronique Del Rosario-Corpus, Valerie Salvador Del Rosario, Vince Pajaro Mariano, and Ferdinand D. Lapuz serving as producers. Niña De Castro joins as supervising producer, and Mona Coles-Mayuga as line producer. The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) backs the project, underlining its cultural and artistic significance.
