Even from afar, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos beamed with pride as she witnessed how Filipino ingenuity and artistry captured international admiration at two major cultural events in Japan.
In a social media post, Mrs. Marcos praised the Philippine Pavillion at Expo 2025 Osaka for its powerful tribute to Filipino identity.
“Titled Woven: Nature, Culture & Community, it’s a heartfelt tribute to who we are — our creativity, craftsmanship, and deep sense of connection to one another and to the world,” she said.
Though she has yet to visit the installation in person, the First Lady has been moved by glowing feedback from attendees.
“Can’t wait to see it in person and celebrate the stories that we Filipinos keep bringing to the global stage,” she added.
The Philippine Pavillion has drawn praise for highlighting the country’s rich cultural fabric, evoking national pride among Filipinos abroad and at home. Social media was abuzz with support:

Through the efforts of the Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, the timeless beauty of traditional Filipino attire was showcased in a fashion event featuring the works of acclaimed designer Paul Cabral.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado and Mrs. Ishiba Yoshiko, wife of Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru.
Mrs. Marcos, though not present, expressed her admiration. “It was such an honor to have Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado and Mrs. Ishiba Yoshiko grace this event,” she said.
“Moments like these remind the world of what we Filipinos can offer: beauty, craftsmanship, and timeless grace.”
