The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) announced on Tuesday that the application process for the soon-to-be vacant post will start as Ombudsman Samuel R. Martires prepares to retire when his term expires on 27 July.

Interested candidates are required to visit the official JBC website at www.jbc.judiciary.gov.ph for detailed guidelines and application requirements.

The JBC said applications must be submitted through the JBC Online Registration and Application System (JBC O.R.A.S.), accessible through the Philippine Judiciary Platform at www.portal.judiciary.gov.ph.

Deadline for online application submissions is set for 4 July at 4:30 p.m.

All necessary steps must be completed by applicants within the system to apply for the position formally.

Following the online submission, the JBC will screen and verify all applications and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.

Applicants with complete submissions will be notified through their JBC O.R.A.S. dashboards and via email to submit one set of hard copies to the JBC Office, located on the second floor of the Supreme Court–Court of Appeals Building, Maria Orosa Street, Ermita, Manila.

The notification will specify the exact date or period for submission.

Applicants opting to send hard copies through registered mail or private courier must ensure that documents arrive on time and email a copy of the mailing receipt to oafs.jbc@judiciary.gov.ph on the day of dispatch.

The date of the online application submission will be considered the official filing date, the JBC said.

Candidates with existing JBC O.R.A.S. profiles are also advised to update their information and complete any additional required fields.

Under the Constitution, the JBC is responsible for screening candidates for judicial posts, including vacancies in the Offices of the Ombudsman and Deputy Ombudsman.
