ZAMBOANGA CITY — Six residents of Zamboanga City graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Siklab-Laya” Class of 2025 during ceremonies Saturday at Fort del Pilar in Baguio City.
Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe on Sunday congratulated the six PMA cadets from Zamboanga City who were part of the graduating class, whose theme “Siklab-Laya” translates to “Soldiers Born as Allies and Strength of Our Nation for Freedom.”
The six graduates from Zamboanga City were identified as: Hikmatyar A. Akkuh of Barangay Talon-Talon, Joel Viane R. Garcia of Barangay Tetuan, Michael E. Gumban of Barangay Sta. Maria, Al Nasrip G. Pulalon of Barangay Campo Islam, Rhey John Ramos of Barangay Divisoria, and Patrick Miles T Salasain of Barangay Sinunuc.
Siklab-Laya Class of 2025 comprised 266 cadets, including 212 males and 54 females, who will be commissioned as 2nd lieutenants and ensigns in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Of the graduating class, 137 will join the Philippine Army, 71 will serve in the Philippine Navy, and 58 will become part of the Philippine Air Force.
Gumban and Pulalon are joining the Philippine Air Force, while Ramos, Garcia and Salasain will serve in the Philippine Army. Akkuh will join the Philippine Navy.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., as the AFP commander-in-chief, was the guest of honor and speaker at Saturday’s graduation ceremony.
