Lugang Café finds a new home in Cebu’s growing food haven

The flavors of Taiwan have officially landed in Cebu as Lugang Café opens its first-ever Visayas branch at SM Seaside City Cebu.

Marking a milestone for both the brand and Cebuano food lovers, the 2 April opening ushers in a fresh chapter in the city’s ever-expanding culinary landscape.

“Our goal has always been to offer more choices and new experiences to communities we serve,” said SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan. “With brands like Lugang Café and other first-in-Cebu dining concepts, we hope to add to Cebu’s already diverse and exciting food landscape."

The arrival of Lugang Café is more than just another restaurant opening. Known for its signature xiao long bao, three-cup chicken, and classic Taiwanese dishes, the restaurant joins an exciting wave of global flavors curated by SM.

Earlier this year, Hoshino Coffee and Yakiniku Like opened at SM J Mall, introducing Cebu to soufflé pancakes and fast-casual Japanese grilling. Lugang Café adds a new layer to the city’s dining scene by offering authentic Taiwanese cuisine that blends tradition with modern comfort.

The movement continues

SM is set to welcome Manam and Ooma, two popular concepts from The Moment Group, at SM City Cebu within the first half of the year. From bringing in Michelin-starred names like Tim Ho Wan and Hawker Chan to building a lineup of new dining experiences, SM continues to shape Cebu into a vibrant gastronomic hub.

With Lugang Café now part of Cebu’s food map, the table is set for more flavor-filled discoveries ahead.
