Aguilar mother-daughter duo wins big in Las Piñas

Mayor-elect April Aguilar and her mother, former Las Piñas City mayor Vice Mayor Imelda Aguilar, stomped their class by beating their respective political adversaries in the just concluded 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE).

The daughter-and-mother tandem dominated the Villar-led Nacionalista Party’s mayoral bet Carlo Aguilar — April’s cousin — and vice mayoral bet Louie Bustamante.

April and Imelda also won during the 2022 elections, but it was Imelda who served as mayor and April as her vice mayor.

In a Facebook post, Mayor April expressed her heartfelt thanks to all Las Piñeros who supported and voted for her as the new mayor of the city.

She said, “Ngayon, higit kailanman, magkaisa tayo bilang isang lungsod.

Mayor Aguilar said her triumph is just the start of a new journey towards the continued progress of Las Piñas.

On the other hand, Vice Mayor Imelda also thanked her constituents for electing her as the second-highest official in her beloved city.

With her win, the lady vice mayor said she will do all she can to better serve her constituents alongside her daughter.
