With just six days left before the midterm elections, senatorial candidate and former Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan is making a fresh appeal for support, saying the fight is far from over.
In a radio interview in Iloilo City, Pangilinan said he’s counting on his clean, proven track record and years of public service to help secure a return to the Senate.
“Five days to go — the fight isn’t over yet. A lot can still happen,” he said. “We’re asking for your support. I’m No. 51 on the ballot.”
Pangilinan stressed his commitment to honest service, saying, “I’ve always stood up, spoken out, and worked hard for our fellow Filipinos — and I’ve never been tainted by corruption.” He noted that Iloilo voters have backed him multiple times, electing him to the Senate three times and as vice president in 2022.
“Every time you put your trust in me, I made sure to serve with integrity and honesty. You believed in me, and I repaid that trust with true public service,” he added.
Pangilinan also welcomed a new endorsement from the Jesus Is Lord (JIL) Church, which threw its support behind him after what it described as a thorough review of his platform and record. The endorsement underscores his long-standing advocacies for justice, food security and principled leadership.
On a recent visit to Sultan Kudarat, Pangilinan also secured the backing of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), the official political arm of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The UBJP’s support reflects growing momentum in Mindanao, where voters recognize Pangilinan’s efforts for inclusive development, agricultural reforms, and lasting peace.
“We’re grateful for these endorsements — they’re a real boost to the campaign and will help us win,” he said.
“These groups don’t just endorse anyone. They study a candidate’s track record carefully — especially groups like JIL and MILF. They’re very issue-oriented and focused on good governance,” Pangilinan added.
