Five people were arrested in multiple buy-bust operations in the cities of Caloocan and Malabon on Tuesday morning, one of whom is a repeat offender.

Operatives from the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Northern Police District (NPD-DDEU) conducted the drug sting in Barangay 153 in Caloocan City. Police Major Jeraldson Rivera, head of NPD-DDEU, identified the suspect as alias “Bebe,” a 33-year-old male, describing him as a street-level drug supplier in his area.

“Our suspect, we are considering him as a street-level individual since he is known to supply illegal drugs within his area,” Rivera said.

Upon initial interrogation, the suspect admitted this was his third arrest.

"Based on our records, ‘Bebe,’ has been arrested in 2017 and 2021 for drug charges, and in both cases, he served more than one year of jail sentence,” Rivera said.

At least 36 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P244,800, were recovered from the suspect in small and medium-sized clear sachets. Authorities added that Bebe receives the supply of illegal drugs in person and through courier riders. Rivera also mentioned that some of Bebe’s customers were small-time drug pushers, whom he referred to as “kabayo.”

In another operation in Caloocan City, four sachets containing suspected shabu were seized from alias “Bumbay,” a 37-year-old resident of Bagong Silang in North Caloocan. The operatives recovered 75 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P510,000.

In Malabon City, operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit seized two heat-sealed sachets from three suspects in Barangay Ibaba.

Malabon City Police Chief Jay Baybayan identified the suspects as alias “Joy,” 36, alias “Ancheng,” 31, and alias “Michael,” 24. The police recovered two heat-sealed sachets and one knot-tied plastic bag containing a total of 50.7 grams of shabu, worth P344,760.
