With the 2025 midterm elections just around the corner, party-list group Kaunlad Pinoy (#133) held a prayer and thanksgiving service at the Philippine Evangelism Center of the United Pentecostal Church (UPC) in Makati, seeking strength, guidance and victory.
Leaders, supporters and candidates of Kaunlad Pinoy attended the service, where church members laid hands on party representatives to pray for wisdom, integrity, and service-oriented leadership. Church elders described the act as a symbol of spiritual affirmation and communal solidarity.
“Our prayer is that Kaunlad Pinoy continues to put God first in all their endeavors and remain faithful to their mission of helping the people,” the pastor said. “We believe in leaders who serve the struggling.”
Kaunlad Pinoy, which champions the rights and welfare of entrepreneurs, small business owners and informal workers, has gained support among everyday Filipinos, particularly market vendors, tricycle drivers, sari-sari store owners and home-based workers.
“Kuya Choi,” Kaunlad Pinoy’s first nominee, stressed that the service was a sincere act of faith and reflection, not a campaign stunt.
“We come here not just to pray for victory, but to ask for humility and courage — because the work ahead is far greater than any seat in Congress,” he said.
In recent months, Kaunlad Pinoy has expanded its community outreach, conducting livelihood seminars, financial literacy workshops, and dialogues with marginalized entrepreneurs across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The party has also pledged to push for legislation that simplifies microbusiness registration, protects informal workers and ensures access to capital for small enterprises.
“Our goal is to build a nation that uplifts those who build our economy from the ground up,” said Kuya Choi. “Every carinderia, every tricycle driver, every online seller — they deserve to be seen, heard and protected by our laws.”
