Discaya seeks terminal for tricycles, UV Express

Pasig mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya is promising big changes for Pasigueños if elected — starting with a modern elevated terminal for tricycles and UV Express vehicles.

“With thousands of people commuting every day, finding a decent, safe terminal is always a struggle,” Discaya said. “There’s no proper waiting area, the lines are a mess, and traffic is only getting worse.”

Discaya, a 48-year-old businesswoman and philanthropist, is proposing a multi-level transport terminal along Urbano Velasco Avenue. Her plan includes a well-organized system, clear queuing lanes, separate waiting areas, and amenities for both drivers and passengers.

“It’s more than just infrastructure — it’s a real solution to the everyday headaches of commuting,” she said. “We want order, dignity and comfort in every trip. Because for Ate Sarah, when commuters are taken care of, the entire city benefits.”

She didn’t hold back criticism either: “For six years, nothing happened. But in three years, there will be hope. That’s how Ate Sarah works.”

Aside from transportation, Discaya is also eyeing the revitalization of Pasig’s riverbanks, transforming them into walkable esplanades that double as tourist spots and sources of livelihood for local families.

“There will be new spaces where families can bond. We’re bringing life back to Pasig — through tourism, jobs and green spaces,” she said.

The esplanades will also include areas specially designed for senior citizens to walk, jog, or do light exercises. Young people will have more space to play and hang out — and yes, she didn’t forget about couples.

“Of course, we’ll also have date spots,” Discaya said with a smile.
