After a two-year break from professional volleyball, Tin Tiamzon is making a highly-anticipated return when she suits up for Cignal in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

The 27-year-old former De La Salle University star, who stepped away from the game in 2023 to spend time with her family in Canada, now finds herself donning a different shade of red after a seven-year run with F2 Logistics under the guidance of multi-titled coach Ramil de Jesus.

Now, the Filipino-Canadian outside hitter sees this new chapter with the HD Spikers as an opportunity to pick up where she left off and fulfill the potential she believes remains untapped.

“I’m just really excited to be back and play the sport I love again. I realized I won’t be as young as I am now,” Tiamzon said.

“I feel like when I last played here, I didn’t reach my full potential. I think I still have a chance to do so, and I don’t want to look back at my career with what-ifs.”

A three-time University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) champion with the Lady Spikers, Tiamzon’s return brings the total number of former La Salle players in the PVL to 32.

At Cignal, she reunites with fellow UAAP titleholder and long-time teammate Dawn Macandili-Catindig, who is now serving as team captain and main libero.

“I’m also looking forward to seeing my former teammates and how we fare up against those teams. I’m excited to see their growth as players here in the PVL, and the league’s progress as a whole,” Tiamzon added.

Her addition couldn’t come at a better time for Cignal, which is navigating a transition phase following the departures of key players such as Ces Molina, Riri Meneses and Jov Fernandez.

With just 13 players on the current roster and only four spikers, Cignal coach Shaq delos Santos is banking on Tiamzon’s experience to stabilize and uplift the young squad.
