Celebrities Anne Curtis, Janine Gutierrez, Jake Ejercito and John Arcilla have joined their fellow stars in supporting the candidacy of former Senator Kiko Pangilinan, who is fighting for a spot in the Top 12 for the upcoming senatorial election.
On Instagram, both Curtis and Gutierrez shared a video of Pangilinan where he admitted that winning his senatorial bid would be tough without the support of his volunteers.
In the video, Pangilinan said, “My fellow countrymen, at this point in our fight, with just a few days left before the campaign ends and the election starts, if we don’t take action now, we might not be able to win this battle.”
Curtis reposted the video, adding, “#51 po!!!,” referencing Pangilinan’s ballot number, and tagged Megastar Sharon Cuneta-Pangilinan’s handle with the message, “Let’s go Tito @kiko.pangilinan.”
Gutierrez also expressed her support in a post on her Instagram channel “channel.nine,” writing, “Happy Sunday everyone! (white heart emoji) Guys, the elections are almost here!!! Have you made your lists?” She then shared a video ad of Pangilinan, adding, “My senator! #TapatAtTotoo” (Honest and True).
Ejercito also joined in, posting his support on his social media with the message: “For every household and the youth, KIKO-BAM!” He included photos of Pangilinan and former Senator Bam Aquino.
Veteran actor John Arcilla also shared his endorsement, writing on X, “A combination of the proven and new ones with clean records. For students, teachers, farmers, workers, barangay officials and professionals, for the struggling nation.” He posted a photo of Pangilinan along with other senatorial candidates he supports.
This isn’t the first time Curtis, Gutierrez, Ejercito and Arcilla have backed Pangilinan, as they also supported him during his vice-presidential run in 2022.
Recently, Pangilinan has been trailing in pre-election surveys and is statistically tied with other senatorial candidates. To secure his spot in the Magic 12, he needs a strong push from his supporters.
In the video, Pangilinan acknowledged that although he doesn’t have a big political machinery or billions for ads, he’s relying on his friends and supporters.
“We don’t have anything to offer them except the hope we hold, along with the truth, principles, and sincere concern for the country,” he shared.
He encouraged his supporters to share on social media why they trust him as senator and to message their friends to help campaign. In addition to house-to-house campaigns and distributing flyers, Pangilinan urged supporters to convert at least five voters every day.
Every small action counts, he added, urging them not to lose hope and to believe in the power of their movement.
