The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) has received formal accreditation from the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) to establish the NNIC Aviation Security Training School.
In a statement, the OTS said that the training institution is specifically designed to provide internal aviation security training for NNIC personnel.
This approach aims to ensure the school’s curricula closely align with OTS standards and regulations and meet globally accepted aviation security requirements.
The OTS highlighted the collaboration with NNIC as a concerted effort to enhance airport security and strengthen public service delivery.
NNIC views the accreditation as a significant milestone that will ensure its aviation security personnel possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and credentials to effectively perform their duties and responsibilities.
Philippine Air Force Ret. MGen Ramon A. Ragasa, SMC president special assistant and CEO on Security-Related Matters, expressed gratitude in a video message. He said that the accreditation is an important step in ensuring the competency of NNIC’s staff, bolstering their capacity to perform their duties efficiently, and reaffirming the organization’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of security in civil aviation.
“I want to express our profound thanks to Bisnar, the current administrator of the Office for Transportation Security, and Nieves, the previous administrator, for allowing our aviation security training school to be accredited,” Ragasa said. “The competency of our NNIC staff is no longer a problem due to this acknowledgment.”
