K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN is set to mark a major milestone in their career with the release of their fifth full-length album on 26 May, coinciding with their 10th debut anniversary.

The 13-member group made the announcement late Monday through a special clip posted on their official YouTube channel, much to the excitement of their global fanbase, CARATs. The video hinted not only at the upcoming album but also teased a flurry of activities, including a new world tour and the release of a unit single album.

The upcoming record will be SEVENTEEN’s first major comeback in seven months, following the release of their twelfth extended play (EP), ”Spill the Feels,“ in October 2024. The project is expected to showcase the group’s signature blend of dynamic performances, self-produced music, and evolving artistry that have earned them a distinct place in the global music scene.

This new era also comes amid changes in the group’s lineup for promotional activities. SEVENTEEN is currently promoting with 11 members, as Jeonghan and Wonwoo are fulfilling their mandatory military service duties — a rite of passage for South Korean men.

Since their debut in May 2015 with the EP ”17 Carat,” SEVENTEEN has consistently pushed the boundaries of K-pop through creativity and teamwork. Their impact on the global music industry was underscored in 2024, when they were ranked the third best-selling recording artist worldwide, trailing only pop juggernauts Taylor Swift and Drake, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

Earlier this year, SEVENTEEN also delighted their Filipino fans with a two-day concert at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan as part of their “Right Here” world tour, reaffirming their enduring popularity in Southeast Asia and beyond.

With their decade-long journey marked by growth and global success, SEVENTEEN’s forthcoming album promises to be not just a musical release, but a celebration of their legacy and a testament to the bright future that still lies ahead.
