The Department of Health (DOH) logged 383 cases of road accidents during Holy Week.
Of the figure, 324 individuals were not using safety gear, such as helmets or seatbelts, and 296 of the cases were motorcycle-related.
At least 31 individuals were reported to be under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, four individuals have died — all of whom were on board motorcycles.
The data were recorded from 13 to 19 April. Cases were 32 percent lower compared to the same period in 2024.
Meanwhile, the DOH reminded the public to avoid driving tired and drunk; to wear safety gear such as helmets for motorcyclists and seatbelts for drivers and passengers of vehicles; and to follow the set speed limit and road signs to ensure a safe and smooth ride and to avoid accidents.
"Make sure to have seven to eight hours of sleep before traveling to stay alert and ready to drive. Also avoid any distractions, such as using a cellphone," the DOH added.
"Above all, be calm, composed, and understanding towards fellow motorists. Drive carefully and practice defensive driving."
