Burnt bodies found, 2 suspects nabbed

SUBIC TOWN, Zambales — Two burnt bodies were found while two suspects were arrested at a vacant house in Barangay Calapacuan of this town on Friday afternoon.

According to the Subic Municipal Police Station (MPS), a witness was fixing his motorcycle when he smelled foul odors and smoke coming from a vacant house in Barangay Calapacuan.

When he was about to put out the fire, he saw remains of a burnt body, and immediately noticed that two male persons ran upstairs to hide.

The witness reported his findings to a Barangay Calapacuan official, who immediately called the Subic MPS.

Personnel of Subic MPS were dispatched to verify the veracity of the report and investigate the incident.

The police immediately placed the two suspects under custody, while further investigation yielded another burnt cadaver inside the house.

During the arrest, two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing 1.6 grams were recovered in their actual possession, along with drug paraphernalia. The confiscated drugs have a total street value of P10,880.

The suspects were identified as Ramon and Julius, both residents of Barangay Calapacuan.

The Subic MPS coordinated with the Olongapo City Forensic Unit to process the crime scene, as well as insulating witnesses for physical inventory, marking and taking of photograph of suspects and recovered/ seized/confiscated pieces of evidence.

The suspects will be charged with violation of RA 9165 and two counts of murder.
