Two Grade 8 students were fatally stabbed by three fellow students outside their school in Las Piñas City on Friday.

The victims, both 15 years old, were identified by Col. Sandro Tafalla, Las Piñas City Police Chief, as alias “Rye Enzo” and alias “Joshua,” both students at Aguilar High School.

According to the police report, the victims were on their way home when they were attacked at 7 p.m. on Balikatan Street, Barangay CAA, Las Piñas City.

Tafalla stated that Enzo sustained a single stab wound to the left side of his neck and died while receiving treatment at Las Piñas Doctors Hospital. Joshua, on the other hand, was pronounced dead on arrival at Las Piñas General Hospital.

The police investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from an argument earlier that day. One of the victims had a dispute with a 15-year-old Grade 9 student inside the school’s comfort room. The argument reportedly started when one of the victims repeatedly turned the lights off and on, angering the Grade 9 student.

After the argument, the victims were on their way home when they were confronted and attacked by the Grade 9 student, along with two others — a Grade 7 student and a Grade 10 student.

The suspects were later surrendered to the authorities by their families and will be turned over to Bahay Pag-asa in Las Piñas City.

Tafalla added that the suspects would be charged with homicide or murder, depending on the results of the ongoing investigation.
