PCSO awards P2.2M to charities serving vulnerable sectors
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) awarded a total of P2.2 million to three charitable institutions under its Institutional Partnership Program (IPP), in a ceremonial turnover held at its main office along Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City on Friday, 28 March 2025.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles led the awarding of financial assistance to the following beneficiaries:
St. Joseph Home for Special Children, Inc., which received P900,000. The grant was accepted by Sr. Leoncia V. Mateo, O.P.
The Ruth Foundation for Palliative and Hospice Care, Inc., which received P800,000, represented by General Manager B-Etta P. Ayon.
Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly, which was awarded P500,000, received by Mother Superior Sr. Sandra Da Silva.
The PCSO’s Institutional Partnership Program is aimed at supporting organizations providing essential services such as food, medicine, and medical care for patients and residents, particularly those under specialized care, hospice services, and support for the elderly.
"The assistance underscores the PCSO’s unwavering commitment to providing meaningful support to institutions dedicated to special needs care, hospice and palliative services, and elderly assistance. By extending these financial contributions, the PCSO continues to champion initiatives that uplift communities, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it the most," the agency said in a statement.
