No Holy Week vacation for gov't — Palace

As the Holy Week approaches, Malacañang has assured the public that the government will continue its operations without pause, emphasizing that there will be no vacation for certain government officials and agencies during this period.

When asked about the Palace's preparations for Filipinos returning to their provinces for the holiday, Presidential Communications Office Usec. Atty. Claire Castro highlighted the government's readiness to ensure the safety and convenience of travelers.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has been directed to enhance its monitoring efforts to accommodate the influx of passengers.

“The President has given orders to ensure the safety and convenience of all the passengers who will be traveling to their hometowns or going on vacations,” Castro said in Filipino. “There will be strict inspections at terminals, ports, and airports to avoid delays in operations before Holy Week.”

Castro also pointed out that while crime and other incidents may arise during the holiday, the government remains vigilant.

“Even during Holy Week, the government does not take a vacation,” she stressed. “Monitoring and assistance will continue to ensure that our fellow Filipinos are supported and safe.”
