The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) formally rolled out its soft tennis competition for Season 100 over the weekend at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

Frank Gusi of University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, who also acts as the chairman of the league’s soft tennis committee, led the opening rites of the event that will be held with a theme Siglo Uno: Inspiring Legacies.

Aside from Gusi, also in attendance during the short opening ceremony were Korea Jeollabuk-do Soft Tennis Association president Park Gyeong Man and Philippine Soft Tennis Association (PSTA) president Bobby Moran.

Park extended his deep appreciation to the NCAA policy board, NCAA management committee and the PSTA for their steadfast and unwavering support to the sport.

“This collaboration provided by the NCAA has been instrumental in shaping the trajectory of soft tennis in the Philippines,” Park said, adding that he wants to invite a player from all seven participating schools to visit Korea to compete in domestic events like the 2025 Korea Cup in Incheon City from 16 to 23 June and the 2025 Sunchang Open in Sunchang City from 24 June to 1 July.

“In line with the development of soft tennis here in the Philippines, we eagerly invite one women’s division player from each participating school to go to Korea to participate in our tournaments that will be sponsored by the Korea Soft Tennis Association and Jeollabuk-do Soft Tennis Association.”

Perpetual is the reigning champion in the women’s division while College of Saint Benilde reigns supreme in the men’s side.
