Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) has taken a significant step toward sustainable manufacturing with the unveiling of the 100% Renewable Energy Badge for its APF Cebu Factory.
"Looking ahead, we aspire to further strengthen this mutually beneficial partnership with ACEN. Together, we have demonstrated that sustainability is not just an aspiration — it is a tangible reality. I am confident that we will continue to make meaningful strides in reducing carbon emissions and fostering a healthier planet for future generations," said Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation president Koichi Ozaki.
APC has made a commitment to reduce its carbon footprint and emissions annually. The transition of its APF Cebu factory to renewable energy is a significant milestone in the company's ongoing efforts to contribute to a greener future.
In 2024, APC’s APF Bulacan factory also transitioned to 100% renewable energy, helping to avoid approximately 6,500 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions annually. Additionally, the APF Bulacan facility features a 1 MWp solar rooftop array in collaboration with Mspectrum, a subsidiary of Meralco.
"This milestone reflects APC's purpose of 'Eat Well, Live Well' — not just today, but for future generations," Ozaki added.
Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation continues to lead the charge in pioneering healthier food solutions while making substantial progress in renewable energy adoption among local manufacturers.
The successful transition of both the Cebu and Bulacan factories not only represents key milestones but also underscores APC’s unwavering commitment to sustainability. Through this collaboration, APC and ACEN are proving that sustainability goals are achievable, while also optimizing energy consumption costs.
The partnership between APC and ACEN sets a bold example for other businesses in the region, demonstrating that sustainability is not just a long-term goal but a present reality that can create a positive environmental impact.
