The Commission on Audit (CoA) has lauded the Port of Manila for its strong revenue collection performance in 2024.

A 24 February 2025, Audit Observation Memorandum (AOM) from state auditors indicated that the Port of Manila’s tax collection reached 99.347 percent of its P84.813 billion target for the previous year.

The AOM also highlighted that the port’s collection in 2024 was higher than the P72.764 billion collected in 2023.

Meantime, the CoA report cited that the Port of Manila’s high collection would significantly contribute to government funds, which will be used to finance the programs of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.

“We commend the management for its high performance on revenue collection for CY 2024,” the report stated.

Collector Alex Alviar heads the Port of Manila for the Bureau of Customs (BoC).

Separately, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto received a letter of appreciation dated 6 March 2025, from ZTE Philippines Inc.

The company commended the BoC, particularly the Port of Manila under the leadership of Collector Alex Alviar, for the swift processing of customs clearances. ZTE Philippines stated that this efficiency prevented any delays to their project with the Caloocan Data Center.

“Your kind support, professionalism, and cooperation have not only driven the success of the aforementioned project but have also left a meaningful difference to our internal organization,” said ZTE Philippines managing director Jin Zhichao.
