Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya emphasized that Team Kaya This’ platform is deeply rooted in the needs and concerns of their constituents.
“Our platforms didn’t come from us dictating what we want to happen. They came from you,” Discaya told local residents during her team’s caucus meeting in Barangay San Joaquin on Friday night. She explained that her team actively consulted with various sectors in the community to understand the programs they wanted to see implemented.
“We brought together the senior citizens, and they were the ones who provided ideas on what they wanted for themselves,” she said. Discaya further explained that they also sought input from various homeowners’ associations across Pasig, asking them what changes they wanted to see in their communities.
“We don’t want the leaders to dictate what should happen. You have a voice, and you are the ones who should tell us what you want to happen here in Pasig,” she added, stressing that community involvement and feedback are at the core of their platform.
In addition to the campaign, Discaya has been active in supporting Pasig’s barangays even before running for office. Through her charity foundation, she has assisted in improving local infrastructure and health services.
“Some homeowners’ associations reached out to us asking for help with their drainage systems. We listened to their concerns and helped them fix the drainage. Another barangay requested misting operations due to a rise in dengue cases, and we organized that as well,” Discaya shared.
She highlighted that her foundation’s initiatives are funded privately, not using government resources.
“We didn’t use government funds for those projects; we used our own money. We’re showing what we can do for Pasig without relying on public funds,” she added. Through these actions, Discaya aims to demonstrate her commitment to the city and its residents long before the official election campaign began.
