Aside from best value local and imported goods, the country’s Philippine chain of membership-only retail warehouse clubs, Landers Superstore, now ushers Japanese, American, and Korean beauty products.
“We have imported about 150 SKUs (stock keeping units) of health and beauty products from the USA. But we have another round of beauty products from Korea as well as Japan, all coming later this month,” said Landers Superstore deputy CEO Bill Cummings during the opening of its Ice Cream Fest at Landers Arca South on Wednesday.
“In addition to that, we have imported about 50 items for pet cats, and dogs,” he added.
Landers store usually carries from 5,000 to 7,000 products, Cummings said in a previous media interview.
In terms of Landers’ sales performance in the last quarter, Cummings said it’s doing great with members telling them to continuously expand and accelerate efforts to bring more value goods to more locations in the country.
“We are very optimistic towards the next quarters. We have very aggressive growth targets, not only in our stores that will be opening. We will be opening two new stores, namely the Vermosa branch in the South, and in ASEANA City in Paranaque,” he told the DAILY TRIBUNE.
Landers currently has 14 stores in operation — Alabang, Angeles, Arca South, Arcovia, Bacolod, Balintawak, BGC, Cebu, Davao, Fairview, Naga, Nuvali, Otis, UP Town Center, with more to open soon.
Aside from this, Cummings said they are very excited about the expansion of their e-commerce platform, the online grocery app of Landers Superstore which provides fresh, same-day delivery in selected cities and provinces in the country.
“We want to be frictionless with our shoppers. So, if they want to shop from their mobile device and be able to directly order our products online, we want to be there for them as well. It’s a frictionless experience of high-quality, great-value items — that is what we want to deliver to our members,” he said.
Divine discontent
The Landers official said despite the macroeconomic headwinds that the country faces, Landers deals with it, optimistically.
“The challenge that we always face is that we’re never satisfied. Whatever number of members we already have, we always wanted to exceed that. Remember the ultimate winners are our members, that is why we are pushing our buyers so hard to, literally, go around the world and locally to look for the best products. We have a divine discontent of not being happy, like we always want more. That’s what we promised to deliver for our members in Landers, you’ll get more in terms of savings, value, and more high-quality items,” he explained.
He maintained that economic woes remain uncontrollable, “but what we can control is to deliver best-quality items for members.”
“Times whether great or bad, value and quality always resonate. They never go out of style. No matter how rich or poor you are, you will always seek a great value of great quality products. And that’s what we are going to deliver, that is our promise,” according to Cummings.
To help the agriculture industry, Cummings said they will be bringing in more produce in the coming months and label it “proudly sourced in the Philippines.”
“In July, I plan to launch a Selection by Landers event. And when that kicks off, we will highlight the Filipino-sourced products, along with key imported products to show how they can both be super relevant for our members,” the Landers official stated.
