The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) joined other government institutions in a community caravan organized by the National Housing Authority for residents of Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal last Friday, 28 March.

With the theme “Serbisyong Dala ay Pag-asa,” the caravan welcomed the PCSO’s team of nurses, dentists and doctors who conducted a medical mission for the residents.

A total of 221 patients were served during the activity, highlighting other services such as free massage and haircut from local skilled workers and assistance from various government offices such as SSS, Pag-Ibig, DTI and the PNP, among others.

PCSO Rizal branch manager Cynthia Amelia Q. Regudo also attended the caravan, with her staff helping out in the medical mission by assisting patients and handing out free medicines for the residents.

The PCSO’s Medical and Dental Mission program aims to provide equitable, efficient and effective health care services through conducting medical and dental missions in partnership with local government units, non-government agencies, civic groups, religious organizations, and other government agencies as initiated and approved by the management.

To show its commitment to disaster preparedness, the PCSO also turned over 100 Emergency Go Bags to Barangay San Antonio in Gerona, Tarlac in a ceremony held at the PCSO Conservatory Building last 24 March.

Barangay captain Jojoy G. Alicaycay received the Go Bags on behalf of the Barangay from PCSO assistant general manager Arnel N. Casas, who represented PCSO general manager Melquiades A. Robles. Each kit is used to provide essential items for survival in emergency situations.

This initiative aligns with the PCSO’s commitment to disaster resilience, providing vulnerable communities with essential resources to respond effectively to emergencies.

Meanwhile, 20 oxygen tanks were given to the town of Alaminos, Laguna, which were received by Alvin P. Racoma, representative of Councilor Janis Angela Ilagan–Rondilla.

These medical supplies donated by the PCSO will be allocated to the barangay health centers of the two towns to support residents, particularly those in need of medical care.

The donation is under the PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, which aims to prioritize the needs of the poor and sick Filipinos.
