Former Miss Universe-turned-actress Gloria Diaz talks about her daughters Isabelle and Ava Daza’s sexual health and pleasure business, Jellytime.
Speaking candidly, the 74-year-old actress revealed that she was amused by what she had learned about her daughters’ business.
"I'm amused. I liked it, and I like the lubricant. I was shocked in the beginning — I was like, 'Oh my God, I need to go to confession!' But then my daughters introduced me to other lifestyles, iyung below the thing line. I came to shows where they — how do you say that? — iyung mga dominant tricks. It’s very amusing," she revealed in an interview with DAILY TRIBUNE alongside selected members of the press during the media conference for Untold, starring Jodi Sta. Maria, in which she co-stars.
According to Diaz, her daughters’ business was very new to her, but it opened her mind to discussions about sexual pleasure.
"It was very, very interesting talaga. It opened your mind. Not that I'm going to get into that, but may tao pa lang ganito, may action pala na ganito, may ganun. Parang it's just like accepting gays, a gay man marrying another man, or a lesbian marrying another girl. It’s just different. It’s just — you can’t be like a horse with a mask," she said.
When asked if she had already used her daughters’ products, she quickly replied, "I like it!" And when asked for her review, she added, "Siyempre Jellytime, me? I like it! I held it; there’s no smell. In fact, I went with them abroad, and they found the best condoms, which are going to be launched soon. You know why condoms? Because HIV in the Philippines is among the highest, and it’s a quiet secret. And I’m not just talking about gays — I’m talking about husbands and wives," she explained.
Since she has already experienced using her daughters’ sexual wellness products, the actress was also asked if she had recommended them to her co-stars in her upcoming movie. "No, not yet. It’s never too late — there’s still tomorrow," she said with humor.
As the conversation continued, Diaz also boasted about her daughters’ upcoming products, which she believes are timely and useful for Filipinos.
"But the condom that they are launching now — it’s a very estranged thing because there are all kinds of condoms."
When asked if she thinks Filipinos are ready to openly discuss such topics, Diaz humorously reacted, "No. Like you — I don't think you're ready. I can tell," she ended with a laugh.
