Revival King Jojo Mendrez’s animosity with Mark Herras is a seemingly endless saga replete with controversial twists and turns, the latest of which is the former’s filing of possible cases against the latter.
disappointment over Herras’ perceived “walkout” during the 38th Star Awards for Television. Mendrez and Herras came together as presenters. Before they could even present an award, the actor told Mendrez he needed to go to the john, only to inform the singer later that he left because there was an “emergency” he needed to attend to.
Fortunately, Rainier Castillo was available as eleventh hour replacement for Herras, saving Mendrez from further embarrassment.
With this, Mendrez, with seeming finality, said he just ended his collab project with Herras.
“It’s about time na wala na, wala nang kasunod ‘yung MarJo, at saka dumating na rin ‘yung point na medyo mabigat na (It’s about time that this is over, there’s no follow up for MarJo, and it came to a point that it’s already heavy),” Mendrez said with seeming finality.
Mendrez’s manager, David Cabawatan, said that Herras receives an honorarium whenever he accompanies the “Nandito Lang Ako” singer. He also revealed that in the course of their collab, Herras owed Mendrez about P1 million.
Now, the animosity between Herras and Mendrez seemingly took a serious turn when the latter was photographed inside Kamuning police station in Quezon City Saturday, 29 March, as he was about to file possible cases against Herras.
As they say, abangan ang susunod na kabanata (wait for the next chapter).
Like a woman scorned, Ai-Ai delas Alas withdrew her petition make her ex-husband Gerald Sibayan a permanent resident in the United States or a green card holder.
As reported by a website, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) favored the Kapuso comedienne’s petition to revoke her Petition for Alien Relative for Sibayan.
In her birthday interview with Boy Abunda on 11 November 2024, the comedienne parried off reports that she will stop Sibayan’s green card petition, which she filed.
“Of course, he’s still my husband and it’s like my help for him to have a legal status in the US,” she said in Filipino.
In her petition, Delas Alas said she discovered that Sibayan has found a new inamorata. The USCIS immediately granted her petition.
Veteran actor Freddie Webb reminisced the time when he was a basketball player and a senator and realized how times have changed.
“While playing basketball I was working because if you rely on basketball alone you will not survive. Now, basketball players are always playing. What they’re paid, I’m happy to say, they’re getting their worth now,” he said in Filipino during the finale presscon for Ang Himala ni Niño where he plays Lolo Mars.
As for politics, Webb feels that it’s now more expensive to run for public office.
“When you ran for a senate seat, if you don’t have P750 million, get out. You’re not gonna win,” he said.
This, he feels, is unfair for qualified politicians who are not moneyed enough to run his political machinery.
Ang Himala ni Niño was awarded Best Values-Oriented Program at the 10th Platinum Stallion National Media Awards. Zion Cruz, who brought Niño’s story to life, was honored as Best Child Performer at the 38th PMPC Star Awards for Television and Child Star of the Year at the Platinum Stallion National Media Awards.
In its final stretch, the show delivers its most emotional moments yet as Lolo Mars (Freddie Webb) leaves behind final letters that find their way to those who need them most, sparking unexpected realizations that could change lives.
The show is aired from Mondays to Fridays, 11:15 a.m. on TV5 before Eat Bulaga!.
