First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has had a busy week supporting initiatives that celebrate Filipino heritage, promote the local film industry and empower athletes.

On Tuesday, 25 March, the First Lady graced “Gintong Sinag: Hinabi ng Lakas, Ginawa Nang May Pagmamalaki,” a fashion show featuring Filipino designer Avel Bacudio’s latest sportswear collection.

Held at the newly revived Pasig River Esplanade, the event highlighted locally woven fabrics worn by Filipino athletes, including Olympians and Paralympians.

Proceeds from the event will support the next generation of champions at the National Academy of Sports.

“The combination of Filipino fashion and craftsmanship showcased here was truly inspiring,” the First Lady said.

On Wednesday, 26 March, she met with CineGang Inc. at the Mirax Building in Makati City.

The group, composed of writers, directors, actors and editors, is dedicated to advancing Philippine cinema.

“I was inspired by the passion and creativity of CineGang. Something special is in the works, and I’m excited to share it soon,” Mrs. Marcos said.

On Thursday, 27 March, the First Lady spearheaded an inter-agency meeting at her office in Manila to finalize preparations for the 2025 Philippine Independence Day celebration.

The meeting brought together key government partners to craft a meaningful tribute to the Filipino spirit and culture.

“We’re gearing up for a celebration that will truly honor our heritage. The energy and pride surrounding this event are already building up,” Mrs. Marcos wrote on her social media on Friday.
