Nation Builders & MOSLIV awards honor sustainability leaders

Leaders, innovators, and advocates gathered on 21 March 2025 at Okada Manila’s Grand Ballroom for the 8th Nation Builders & MOSLIV Awards, celebrating excellence in sustainability, governance, and social responsibility. Organized by Sustainability Standards, Inc. (SSI), the event honored individuals and organizations advancing leadership, environmental stewardship, and corporate social responsibility.

With 1,000 distinguished guests in attendance, the ceremony emphasized the power of collective efforts in achieving sustainability goals. Key speakers included U.S. Senator Shelly V. Calvo, who highlighted leadership’s role in sustainability, Senator Mark Villar on policy-driven progress, and former Senator Leila De Lima on empowerment’s impact in addressing socio-environmental challenges.

Public officials recognized for their commitment to sustainable governance included Hon. Gustavo S. Tambunting (Paranaque City 2nd District), Hon. Emmarie "Lolypop" M. Ouano-Dizon (Lone District of Mandaue City), and Hon. Romulo "Kid" Peña, Jr. (Makati City 1st District), among others. Hon. Edwin I. Jubahib (Governor, Davao Del Norte) and Usec. Serafin P. Barretto, Jr. (DILG - Public Safety) were also honored for their contributions to peace and nation-building.

Private sector leaders were celebrated for their sustainability-driven initiatives. Honorees included CEOs like Mr. Derrick M. Tan (Magna Prime Chemical Technologies, Inc.) and Mr. Diosdado G. Serviento (Biostar Nutriproducts, Inc.), as well as philanthropists like Mr. Bernardino "Bernie" D. Caramba (PMS - Prime Power Network, Inc.) and Ms. Cristhel Fraulein Gardoce Bulabon (Mrs. Earth International).

Local government units and organizations were commended for sustainability efforts. Tayabas (Quezon), Kidapawan (Cotabato), and Cauayan (Isabela) were named Certified Most Sustainable and Liveable Cities, while Arayat (Pampanga) was recognized as the Most Sustainable and Liveable Municipality. Institutions like Davao De Oro State College and Eastern Samar State University were honored for integrating sustainability into education, while companies such as Magna Prime Chemical Technologies, Inc. and Biostar Nutriproducts, Inc. were awarded for sustainable business practices.

Since its inception in 2018, the Nation Builders & MOSLIV Awards has recognized over 800 individuals and organizations, reinforcing sustainability’s role in national and global progress.

“We are almost halfway through the UN SDG 2030 Agenda. While we have faced challenges, our collective resilience and commitment to sustainability continue to shape a greener, more inclusive world,” said SSI President and CEO Kenneth Rocete.

As the event concluded, awardees and attendees were inspired to further their commitment to nation-building and environmental stewardship, proving that collaboration is key to a sustainable future.
