Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has been recognized as the Most Outstanding and Inspiring Public Servant of the Year at the 4th Asian Torch Excellence Awards, marking the second consecutive year he received the distinction.
The awarding ceremony, organized by Realtalk Philippines, was held on 22 March at the Emerald Hall of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City. Go was unable to attend in person and delivered his message through a video, while his Chief of Staff Angelo Villar accepted the award on his behalf.
Go extended his congratulations to fellow awardees, emphasizing that true public service is measured not by honors but by the lives improved through sincerity and compassion.
“This is an evening dedicated to recognizing Filipinos who work hard and inspire others in their respective fields. Behind every success is a story of perseverance, sacrifice, and genuine care for others,” Go said.
He also acknowledged the role of award-giving bodies like the Asian Torch Excellence Awards in motivating individuals to continue their advocacies. He commended Chairman and Founder Leo Gamel Orencia for encouraging public servants and professionals to persevere in their mission to serve others.
The Asian Torch Excellence Awards, an annual event organized by Realtalk Philippines, celebrates individuals and institutions making significant contributions across various fields, including public service, education, health, business, and media. The 2025 ceremony brought together a diverse group of honorees recognized for their impact on nation-building and community service.
For Go, the award is a reflection of the collective efforts of those who quietly work to uplift the lives of others.
“Receiving the Most Outstanding and Inspiring Public Servant of the Year award is not just a personal honor but a recognition of the work we all do to serve our fellow Filipinos — silently, sincerely, and to the best of our abilities. In truth, the real reward in public service is not a trophy or a title, but the smiles of those whose lives we have touched,” he stated.
Go reaffirmed his commitment to public service, saying he will continue to serve with or without recognition.
“With or without an award, I will continue to serve to the best of my ability,” he added.
He concluded his message by encouraging fellow awardees to carry on with their mission, highlighting the role of unity and compassion in creating meaningful change.
