Ramona Cecilia "Arci" Datuin Muñoz, known as Arci Muñoz, is a true multi-hyphenate. Actress, singer, beauty queen, and now a sergeant in the Philippine Air Force Reserve, Arci's journey reflects her unwavering dedication to both her craft and her country.
Her career began in 2005 when she entered the spotlight through StarStruck, launching a path that spanned various television networks and even international modeling competitions. But Arci wasn’t content with simply playing the leading lady. Before embracing those roles, she made a name for herself portraying compelling antagonists, showcasing her versatility in Princess Charming, Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan, and Ngayon at Kailanman, where she masterfully played the obsessive and scheming Donna Benitez.
Her transition to lead roles in shows like Felina: Prinsesa ng mga Pusa solidified her status in the industry. But her passion extended beyond acting. As the lead vocalist of the rock band Philia, she brought her powerful voice to the stage, even performing at the prestigious Pulp Summer Slam.
A significant career shift occurred when she joined ABS-CBN in 2014, starring in popular dramas like Pasion de Amor and Walang Hanggang Paalam. Yet, even with a flourishing acting career, Arci felt a deeper calling to serve her country.
"I believe this is a way for me to serve my beloved country. I believe that with unity and discipline, we can achieve the peace I long for," she shared in FIlipino, expressing her commitment to national service.
Her decision to join the Air Force Reserve was also her way of honoring the sacrifices of soldiers. "That's why I encourage you to enlist and inspire the next generation," she urged, calling on others to consider the reservist path.
Arci’s dedication to service extends beyond the military. She also ventured into politics, running for councilor in Cainta, Rizal, further demonstrating her commitment to her community.
Adding to her diverse portfolio, she recently appeared in the music video for TOMORO and Sean Kingston, showcasing her continued connection to the music scene.
Now, she returns to the big screen in the highly anticipated film Sinagtala, starring alongside Glaiza de Castro, Rhian Ramos, Matt Lozano, and Rayver Cruz. Set for release on April 2, the film marks her return to cinema, reinforcing her enduring presence in the entertainment industry.
Arci Muñoz’s journey is one of constant evolution, fueled by a desire to challenge herself and contribute to something greater than herself. Whether commanding the stage, serving her country, or captivating audiences on screen, she continues to redefine what it means to be a modern Filipina.
