The city government of Muntinlupa is proud to be one of the 17 Metro Manila local government units (LGUs) that bagged the DILG-NCR award for achieving the CY 2024 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) for the third year in a row.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) National Capital Region congratulated all 17 LGUs in the NCR for being declared CY 2024 GFH passers.
The city government, meanwhile, marked its 30th cityhood anniversary on 1 March with groundbreaking ceremonies, a medical and dental mission, and a Mass.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon, together with Rep. Jaime Fresnedi, led the groundbreaking ceremonies for the Mental Health and Palliative Care Center on Montillano Street and the Mega Health Center on Ilaya Street, both located in Barangay Alabang.
The anniversary is a special non-working day in Muntinlupa based on Republic Act 9191, approved on 21 February 2003, declaring “the First Day of March of every year as a Special Non-Working Day in the City of Muntinlupa to be known as the Muntinlupa City Charter Day.”
The 17 NCR LGUs were found compliant with the two assessment criteria: Unmodified or Qualified Opinion based on the Annual Audit Report (AAR) posted on the Commission on Audit website as of 27 September 2024; and compliance with full disclosure policy requirements on the timely and complete posting of required financial documents in three conspicuous places and in the FDP Portal from the second to fourth quarters of CY 2023 and the first quarter of CY 2024.
This is the third consecutive year that the National Capital Region has achieved a 100 percent passing rate in the GFH assessment, a testament to the NCR LGUs’ commitment to transparent and accountable local governance.
Muntinlupa City Gender and Development Executive Director Trina R. Biazon shared her excitement in a Facebook post, saying, “#NAKAKAPROUD!”
Aside from Muntinlupa, the other NCR cities that achieved the GFH recognition are Makati, Quezon City, Manila, Pasig, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Marikina, San Juan, Pasay, Taguig, Valenzuela, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Mandaluyong and the Municipality of Pateros.
