NLEX Corp., backed by business magnate Manuel V. Pangilinan, is committing nearly P1.4 billion to elevate the efficiency and customer experience across its expressway network.
The company said on Wednesday that the investment will drive seamless toll transactions through the integration of advanced technologies, including the installation of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) cameras on all 315 toll lanes.
The company will also upgrade the remaining 127 RFID antennas to high-frequency models for more efficient RFID sticker reading.
The upgrades are designed to meet critical customer satisfaction targets, including a 98 percent RFID readability rate, vehicle detection at toll lanes within one second for all vehicle classes, and accurate vehicle classification.
“Over the years, NLEX Corp. has shown its commitment to providing world-class service. By benchmarking its technologies against those used in other countries, we aim to provide greater accessibility and convenience to all motorists at NLEX, SCTEX, and NLEX Connector,” NLEX Corporation Office-In-Charge and Chief Finance Officer Maria Theresa Wells said.
NLEX said it will also invest in new speed cameras to enhance traffic law enforcement and address speeding hazards.
Other improvements include replacing toll lane computers and installing Plaza Computer System and Video Enhancement System servers at NLEX and SCTEX.
