Geely returns, revamps mobility

Geely Auto, one of the first Chinese car brands to make waves in the Philippines, is back with fresh energy. Geely Motor Philippines Corp. (GMP), a new subsidiary of Geely Automotive International Corporation (GAIC), made its official debut with a grand relaunch event. This milestone showcased new, high-value models and improved operations, reaffirming Geely’s dedication to Filipino car buyers.

Branded as a full-scale relaunch under GAIC’s management, the event highlighted Geely’s renewed focus on innovative, sustainable, and top-quality mobility solutions. The company emphasized a stronger customer-first approach, promising quicker service, personalized support, and exclusive perks for Filipino drivers.

“Innovation and inclusivity are at the heart of Geely’s operations,” Will Wan, president of Geely Motor Philippines, said. “Geely will not only be making cars, but we are also creating a better way of living. We aim to bring safety, technology, innovative thinking, and cutting-edge design to Filipino users in a more accessible way. We are enabling them to explore new horizons, possibilities and perspectives to see the world in full.”

The Geely EX5, showcased at the brand’s relaunch, redefines new energy mobility.

One of the event’s highlights was the preview of the globally acclaimed Geely EX5. A game-changer in New Energy mobility, the EX5 features a bold, aerodynamic design with a sleek profile and an impressive drag coefficient of 0.269. Its modern look is further enhanced by sophisticated LED taillights and a high-tech front grille.

Inside, the EX5 embraces a minimalist yet luxurious approach, offering premium materials and flexible seating. Thanks to its “Half More” storage concept, it delivers up to 50 percent more cargo space than the industry average. To complete the experience, the EX5 comes with the FLYME Auto system and FLYME SOUND, ensuring seamless connectivity and an immersive audio experience.

As a testament to automotive innovation, Geely has equipped the EX5 with the latest “Short Blade Battery.” It offers exceptional safety and durability, having passed rigorous tests under versatile extreme conditions. Partnered with the 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive which delivers unparalleled efficiency and performance setting a new benchmark in electrified mobility.

The brand’s current lineup, particularly the Coolray and Emgrand, has also received significant upgrades to offer enhanced features and improved driving experiences. Wan emphasized the distinctive advantages of each model, showcasing its specs and user applications to cater to the diverse needs of Filipino drivers.

The upgraded Coolray, which features the unique BMA Architecture, champions a more powerful 1.5TD four-cylinder engine that delivers 172 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 7.6 seconds. The Coolray’s exterior showcases a redesigned front grille with Geely’s “energy storm” design, LED headlights, tomahawk-style 18-inch wheels, and a sport spoiler. Inside, it offers a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 12.3-inch display screen with Carplay, and a sport electronic shift lever. Additional features include wireless charging, faux suede multifunction seats, and a 540° HD panoramic camera system.

Meanwhile, the new Geely Emgrand is built also on cutting-edge modular BMA architecture, offering enhanced space, superior comfort, and improved handling stability. The Geely Emgrand is a subcompact sedan that has been a top seller in its China home market. The Emgrand is known for its affordable price, premium-like interior, and competitive features compared to other sedans in its class. Model improvements include an improved 12.3-inch high-definition touchscreen providing essential vehicle information and entertainment with unparalleled clarity, a new 1.5D engine, and a new powertrain of 6-speed Automatic transmission.

In addition to these announcements, Geely has unveiled its new pricing strategy for its refreshed and current models.

Geely also officially kicked off the pre-selling period for the EX5, running from 12 February to 31 March. As a gesture of their sincerity and to further encourage early adopters, the first batch of reservations will receive an exclusive limited-time discount of P10,000, reducing the standard price of P110,000.

Meanwhile, the Coolray and Emgrand models come with their own enticing promotions. Early buyers of the Coolray can enjoy a P70,000 discount. On top of that, Geely is offering a special promotion where users can enjoy an even larger discount of P90,000 by placing a P10,000 deposit before 28 February. For the Emgrand, early buyers can take advantage of a P40,000 discount, making these offers an excellent opportunity for those eager to experience Geely’s latest models.

To provide more user value to its customers, Geely has launched the Refer and Earn activity program where every time existing users introduce new users to Geely stores before 31 March, both parties can receive a maintenance voucher worth P2,000. Moreover, if the new user pays a downpayment for a new car, this maintenance voucher can be further increased by an additional P2,000.
