Iblan, Camacho lead Pokemon Run finishers

Around 10,000 runners showed up to compete in the first ever Pokemon Run last Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

Christopher Iblan emerged as the fastest as he clocked 37 minutes and nine seconds in the men’s 10K event while Carlos Go and Ariel Montano finished second and third with 41:37 and 42:48, respectively.

In the distaff side, Maricar Camacho shone, posting 41:48 followed by Jocelyn Elijeran (43:49) and Angela Nabel Velasco (51:08) in this race that saw runners dressing up like their favorite trainers and pocket monsters.

In the 5K category, Louie Agawa was the fastest man with 16:46 followed by Sherwin Cuenza (16:58) and Mark Angelo Biagtan (17:10), while Jennine Sze was the fastest woman with 22:15 seconds with Pauline Abril-Tabirara (24:03) and Maricris Abueg (25:40) making the podium.

Cavin Vidal had the best time in the 3K category of the men’s division, crossing the line in 9:50 followed by Kim Wilson Alison (12:22) and Ganimid Avarez Jr. (13:06) while Rhazanica Sarah Bautista had the best among the women with her 16:30 clocking followed by Mary Grace Dela Torre-Mondragon (16:40) and Paula Rickyvil (17:50).

Meanwhile, Joseph Fontamillas clocked 3:40 to capture the crown in the men’s 1K event over John Archel Arroyo (5:00) and Gio Ranario (5:20) while Ai Kaneko posted 6:20 to rule the distaff side over Jhoenet Marquez (6:48) and Mari Samantha Bersaldo (7:10).
