Like hair, the color of the eyes can be artificially changed. One way is by using prescription-colored contact lenses. Another means is through a cosmetic surgery called keratopigmentation, which changes eye color permanently.

The surgical procedure involves injecting pigment into the cornea to change it from clear to opaque and cover the natural iris color inside, New York Post (NYP) reports.

The cost of permanently changing the color of one’s eye is $6,000 in the United States. Since both eyes’ new color should be identical, the cost is double the amount.

Los Angeles-based ophthalmologist Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler, 57, is a keratopigmentation specialist. By sharing online his patients’ eyes before and after keratopigmentation, he has amassed 3.4 million followers on TikTok.

Wachler’s color options for customers are emerald green, evergreen, riviera blue, Paris blue, honey gold, steel grey and olive green.

Meanwhile, a makeup artist from Nottingham, United Kingdom continues to amaze netizens by painting faces of celebrities on her face.

Romanie-Jade Tulloch’s Instagram followers have grown to 338,000 while 150,000 have been following her on TikTok since turning her face into a canvas in 2018. She had changed her entire face into a Will Smith and Oprah Winfrey, GDN Online reports.

Tulloch also can paint small faces of celebrities in her face, even animating them by using her eyes as their mouth to create an illusion of them speaking when she blinks, according to GDN Online.

A report by the New York Post shows a video of rap artist Drake, actors Dwayne Johnson and Chadwick Boseman, and the entire cast of the defunct TV sitcom “Friends.”

The video also shows American pop singers Sabrina Carpenter and “Billie Eyelash,” a pun for Billie Eilish whose mouth in the painting is the eye of Tulloch.
