When disaster strikes, communities unite — and what better way to bring people together than through the universal language of music?
The FireAid Benefit Concert, held on Thursday, 30 January, at The Kia Forum and Intuit Dome, was more than just a night of incredible performances. It was a testament to resilience, compassion, and hope.
The concert boasted a diverse roster of performers for the five-hour show, ranging from chart-topping musicians to local talent, all eager to contribute their voices to the cause.
Performers for the 6 PM show at The Kia Forum included Alanis Morissette, Anderson .Paak, Dave Matthews and John Mayer, Dawes, Graham Nash, Green Day, John Fogerty, Joni Mitchell, No Doubt, P!nk, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stephen Stills, Stevie Nicks, and The Black Crowes.
Meanwhile, the performers for the 7:30 PM show at the Intuit Dome included Billie Eilish, Earth, Wind & Fire, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Baby, Olivia Rodrigo, Peso Pluma, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Tate McRae.
Many wildfire victims and first responders were present at the massive event.
According to FireAid’s official website, the concert is “dedicated to rebuilding communities that have been devastated by wildfires.”
Alongside performances by music icons were videos showcasing the fire devastation and personal testimonies that inspired audiences to contribute, including those watching the show online.
All funds raised from the concert will go directly to the Annenberg Foundation, which will allocate them toward immediate relief efforts for the Palisades and Eaton Fires, as well as long-term initiatives to prevent future wildfires across Southern California.
The LA Fire, which started on 7 January, has claimed 29 lives and destroyed entire communities, along with their homes.
