Team Falcons boss talks ROI in Mobile Legends

Team Falcons Global Director of Esports Grant Rousseau is not in denial that entering the local Mobile Legends scene came with a hefty price tag.

With Mobile Legends Professional League PH being a franchise, the Saudi Arabia-based organization had to purchase the slot from one of the teams to enter.

With so much talk about running an Esports team being unsustainable, Rousseau Team Falcons invested because they see potential in Mobile Legends going global.

"One of the biggest reasons why we entered now, and yes there is a cost associated, is we are really seeing MLBB Esports going global," Rousseau said during an interview with a group of reporters last Friday.

"Obviously there are a lot of countries that play this game but it has a great focus on Southeast Asia in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. We are seeing the possibility of going global and that opens up so many more revenue opportunities.

Before making its way to MPL PH, Team Falcons had a glance at what the Esports scene looked like when it partnered with two-time world champion AP Bren.

With less than a couple of months before Team Falcons makes its MPL debut in Season 15, Rousseau stressed they have a strategy in place to get their money back.

"We would not enter a new game without a structured business plan on how we see profitability in the game. There are a whole bunch of different ways we believe we can make revenue for it. So I think it is very much what we make of it," said Rousseau.
