4 nabbed, P2.7-M drugs seized

BACOLOR, Pampanga — Authorities seized illicit drugs worth P2.7 million in Bacolor on Friday during a drug bust operation that also led to the arrest of four suspects, including a high-value individual.

According to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), the operation, which took place at around 8:12 p.m. in Barangay Cabetican, resulted in the arrest of Jane, 45, a fish vendor from San Quintin, Pangasinan; Jaime, 52, a security guard from Quezon City; Jeff, 44, a motorcycle mechanic from Caloocan City; and Rie, 39, a tattoo artist from Quezon City.

The Pampanga Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) led the operation, working in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit, Bacolor Municipal Police Station, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3 (PDEA R3).

The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 402 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P2,733,600.

Along with the illegal drugs, authorities also confiscated two firearms: a Para-Ordnance .45 caliber pistol (serial number 53487) with a magazine containing three live rounds, and a Colt Trooper MK-III .38 caliber revolver (serial number 850209) with three live rounds.

Other seized items included a gray Redmi cellphone and a gray Hyundai Sonata with plate number TOG 788.

The suspects were informed of their constitutional rights during the operation and are now in PDEU custody, where appropriate charges will be filed against them.

They will face violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165), as well as charges related to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

PRO3 Director, Police Brigadier General Jean S. Fajardo, commended the successful operation, highlighting the efforts of law enforcement personnel and partner agencies:

“This accomplishment reflects our commitment to rid Central Luzon of illegal drugs and ensure the safety of our communities. The arrest of this high-value individual and their accomplices sends a strong message that we will not tolerate any activity that undermines the well-being of our people. I commend the teamwork and dedication of our personnel and our partner agencies for this significant achievement.”

She also emphasized the critical role of the community in the fight against illegal drugs, encouraging the public to report any suspicious activities.
