Is Vice Ganda’s MMFF movie the reason for KimPau’s delayed film?

In an official statement, Star Cinema said that the KimPau romantic comedy, originally scheduled for a 12 February screening, ‘will now appear in cinemas worldwide starting 26 March’

Star Cinema has seemingly dignified rumors of moving Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s Valentine’s Day movie, My Love Will Make You Disappear, to a later playdate.

In an official statement, Star Cinema said that the KimPau romantic comedy, originally scheduled for a 12 February screening, “will now appear in cinemas worldwide starting 26 March.”

The move was made “to expand into the North American market.”

While KimPau fans were too happy with the statement as they promised to watch the much-awaited film in March, there are those who felt that the move was taken to give Vice Ganda’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry ample time to be screened worldwide after its Christmas screening.

Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu.

“Eto ‘yung kinasasama ng loob ni Paulo at Kim kasi na-move ‘yung play date from February to March. Dapat pa nga April pa ‘yan, ginawa na lang March kasi nga nag-post na si Paulo. Extended kasi ang And the Breadwinner Is... hanggang katapusan ng January and ipapalabas pa lang siya sa ibang countries kaya namove sila (This was why Paulo and Kim felt bad because the playdate was moved from February to March. It should be April, but was made March because Paulo already posted about it. It’s because And The Breadwinner Is... is extended until the end of January and will just be shown in different countries so their playdate was moved)” one fan cleverly opined.

Well, we think this makes sense.

Why Janine Gutierrez will not accept ‘kontrabida’ roles

Playing Iris Buenavidez in Lavender Fields will be the last for Janine Gutierrez... for now.

“Ayaw ko nang magkontrabida. Sobrang hirap. Ang napansin ko sa role ni Iris,  ‘yung galit, hindi mo siya puwedeng i-release na iyak (I don’t want to play an antagonist. It’s so hard. What I noticed in the role of Iris, is that you can’t release your anger if you don’t cry),” she said during the finale’s media conference for the series which will have its final airing this week.

“If your a protagonist, you can cry when you’re angry. My order for Iris is not to show remorse or vulnerability. She can do that only when she’s alone. When she’s with other people, she has to be very brave,” Gutierrez added.

With this, she felt that all the anger that her character displayed have reached her head that she experienced having headaches after some takes.

“Iba ang demands ng kontrabida roles. So, ayaw ko na po (The demands of playing an antagonist is different.  So, I don’t like to play it again),” she said.

But Gutierrez is not saying it with finality.

“I mean, nothing is ever final. Never say never. If it’s a good role, I don’t care if it’s bida or kontrabida,” she said.

Netizen claps back at Fyang Smith

Pinoy Big Brother housemate Fyang Smith made a scathing remark against those who criticize her.

“Go on, bahala kayo. ‘Di naman kami napapagod eh, kayo ‘yung nagsasayang ng oras. And 2025 na ate! Ano, walang character development? (Go on, it’s up to you. We will not get tired, you’re the one wasting your time.  And it’s already 2025. What, you don’t have character development?)” came Smith’s response to bashers.

This didn’t sit well with a netizen who lectured her about “character development.”

“Honestly, she needs to go back to school. The management should let her study while pursuing her career in showbiz. Compared to other housemates, this girl need to be exposed sa school and learn character development from there,” the netizen said.

After winning Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 season, Smith has become very famous.  Her guesting in ABS-CBN shows like It’s Showtime and ASAP Natin ‘To were widely followed by her fans. Her team up with PBB housemate JM Ibarra was also well accepted by fans.
