Missing persons may just be hiding in plain sight. The case of British woman Sheila Fox is one example.

Continuing their search for the woman, the West Midlands Police (WMP) recently released on social media platforms a photograph of Fox from the time of her disappearance, which they had not done before, the Smartville Star reports.

Within hours, the WMP received a tip on Fox’s whereabouts.

“We were absolutely thrilled to locate Ms. Fox after more than five decades. Our officers were able to speak with her and confirm that she is indeed well,” said WMP detective Sergeant Jenna Shaw, according to the Star.

Fox left her home in Coventry in England in the spring of 1972 when she was 16 years old and was never seen again. Now a 68-year-old retiree living in a different part of the country, Fox requested privacy so the reason for her disappearance remains a mystery, the report says.

Meanwhile, a man from Illinois, USA posted his belated Christmas present on Instagram on 27 December.

Tim King, 53, posted a photo of a Disney-wrapped box with his name on it. A video showed him unwrapping the gift and revealing a set of Matchbox Thunder Jets — a model airplane made in the 1970s. The video went viral with 37,000 likes.

It was not a vintage toy; the gift was actually wrapped 46 years ago but somehow got lost in his parents’ house.

King found it behind a bathroom wall when he was helping his parents renovate their home a few days after Christmas, New York Post reports.

His mom could not recall buying the gift for him around 1978, when King was only six years old.
