Ayala-backed Globe Telecom remains confident in its resilience and operational reliability after securing ISO 22301:2019 certification, the international standard for Business Continuity Management Systems, valid until 2027.

“This achievement is a clear indication of Globe’s constant state of readiness to respond to challenges. Our efficient teams, coupled with effective processes, guarantee the delivery of essential products and services to our customers whatever the situation may be,” Carlo Puno, Globe’s chief financial officer, treasurer and chief risk officer, said on Thursday.

ISO 22301 provides a structured approach for organizations to enhance their business continuity planning and execution.

Consistent certification

Globe has consistently upheld this certification since 2012, mirroring its commitment to maintaining a robust and adaptive business framework. Its policies align with these standards, focusing on employee safety, customer data protection, and infrastructure reliability, ensuring that the company’s services remain resilient amid natural disasters or unforeseen disruptions.

The company integrates a broad range of preemptive and responsive strategies such as retrofitting telecom towers to comply with the National Structural Code of the Philippines, fortifying networks with redundant transport facilities, and enhancing backup power at critical sites.

Globe also utilizes Cell Broadcast Systems to send geo-targeted SMS alerts to comply with the Free Mobile Disaster Alerts Act, to keep communities informed during emergencies.

For post-disaster recovery, the company deploys innovative solutions such as Network-in-a-Box, Cell Site on Wheels and Tower on Wheels, ensuring swift restoration of network coverage and enabling Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging services in affected areas.
