LA UNION — Senatorial aspirant Luis “Manong Chavit” Singson gathered local leaders from La Union at Vista La Vita to present his platform centered on green energy, economic zones, and public accountability.
Accompanied by Rep. Richelle Singson, Vice Governor Mario Ortega, and Rep. Paolo Ortega, Singson outlined a bold vision for sustainable development and job creation.
Manong Chavit, listed as No. 58 on the Senate ballot, pledged significant investments to help local government units (LGUs) transition to renewable energy and eco-friendly technologies.
“I will finance LGUs to shift to electric vehicles,” Singson announced, emphasizing the need to modernize transportation while reducing the country’s carbon footprint. His plans align with the growing global push for sustainability and energy independence.
Addressing the challenges of unemployment, Singson called for the establishment of economic zones to attract industrialization and foreign investments.
“Economic zones will drive job creation and bring development to underserved areas,” he explained.
Manong Chavit’s strategy involves fostering public-private partnerships to create hubs of economic activity across the nation.
As part of his economic reforms, Singson introduced VBank, a digital banking platform aimed at empowering LGUs.
“With VBank, we can ensure financial inclusion and efficient governance,” he said, linking technology to his broader vision of modernization and transparency.
Singson reiterated his stance against corruption, firmly opposing pork barrel allocations.
“I am not in favor of pork barrel since it attracts graft and corruption,” he declared, advocating for stricter fiscal accountability.
Singson highlighted his experience and commitment to public service.
“I want to spend all the money I earned helping Filipinos,” he stated, portraying himself as a leader willing to invest his resources for the country’s progress.
As the elections for 2025 draw near, Singson’s focus on green energy and economic reform positions him as a champion of sustainable development, appealing to both grassroots leaders and progressive voters eager for change.
