2024 Bar passers to take oath on 24 January

There are a total of 3,962 bar passers from the 2024 online Bar examinations administered by the Supreme Court (SC) last September who will take their oath on 24 January to become full-fledged lawyers.

The oath-taking ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Afterward, according to SC spokesperson lawyer Camille Sue Mae L. Ting, the new lawyers will sign the Roll of Attorneys.

The bar passers will take their oath before the SC as a full court. The 2024 Bar examinations committee was led by SC Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez.

Earlier, Justice Lopez said: "The new lawyers will become the new advocates of justice and truth. They will join the ranks of esteemed legal professionals who will shape society and champion the rights of the people."

University of the Philippines (UP) law graduate and bar topnotcher Kyle Christian G. Tutor, who scored 85.77 percent, will lead the 3,962 bar passers at the oath-taking ceremony.

The other topnotchers are Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) law graduate Maria Christina S. Aniceto in second place with 85.48 percent, and Gerald C. Roxas of Angeles University Foundation in third place with 84.355 percent.

In fourth to sixth place are UP law graduates John Philippe E. Chua (84.28 percent), Jet Ryan P. Nicolas (84.265 percent), and Maria Lovelyn Joyce S. Quebrar (84.06 percent).

The other top 10 notches include Joji S. Macadine from the University of Mindanao (83.745 percent), Gregorio Jose S. Torres II from Western Mindanao State University (83.59 percent), and Raya B. Victorio from San Beda University (83.47 percent).

Among the top 20 are Paolo Antonio V. Gerpacio from AdMU (83.455 percent), Andrew Gil B. Ambray from the University of Santo Tomas (83.445 percent), Marielle Janine Joy T. Macarilay from AdMU (83.275 percent), John Daniel D. Hamoy from the University of San Carlos (83.135 percent), Therese Bianca N. Garcia from AdMU (83.09 percent), Recel Elumba from Jose Rizal Memorial State University (83.065 percent), Rieland J. Cuevas from UP (82.87 percent), Betlee-Kyle T. Barraquias from AdMU (82.83 percent), June Steve G. Barredo from the University of St. La Salle (82.805 percent), Charles Kenneth F. Lijauco from UP (82.795 percent), and Pierre Angelo C. Reque II from UST (82.795 percent).
