Generation Beta is the next generation, born between 2025 and 2039, according to futurist and social researcher Mark McCrindle.

They will be the children of the younger millennials and older Gen Zs. While Generation Alpha is the first to grow up fully immersed in technology, Generation Beta will take this even further.

Here’s a look at how they will be different from earlier generations.

Who will be born into Generation Beta?

Generation Beta will include children born between 2025 and 2039.

"Generation Beta represents a pivotal chapter in our evolving world," writes McCrindle in a blog post. This generation will live in a world that will look very different from the one we know today.

Key differences between Generation Beta and earlier generations

1. More technology everywhere

Generation Alpha grew up with smartphones and social media. But Generation Beta will grow up with even more advanced technology, like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and artificial intelligent (AI) assistants built into their daily lives.

2. AI and robots

For the Betas, AI and robots will be a normal part of life for them. While Generation Alpha uses basic voice assistants like Siri or Alexa, Beta will have AI teachers, healthcare helpers, and even personal robots.

3. Focused on the environment

Generation Beta will experience the real effects of climate change — like stronger storms and rising temperatures. They will grow up in a world that focuses on being eco-friendly and sustainable.

4. Global and diverse

Generation Beta will be the most connected generation. They will be in touch with people from all over the world, making them more global-minded and aware of different cultures.

5. Post-pandemic life

Growing up in a post-pandemic world, Generation Beta will experience remote learning, virtual work, and online socializing as the norm.

6. Mental health awareness

Betas will grow up in a world where mental health is just as important as physical health. They will have better resources to deal with stress and emotions, thanks to a greater focus on mental well-being.

7. New education

Education for Generation Beta will be more personalized and tech-driven, with tools like AI tutors, online learning, and interactive lessons. School will be very different from what earlier generations experienced.

What makes Generation Beta special?

Generation Beta will live in a world where technology is deeply part of everyday life. They will be more adaptable, tech-savvy, and socially conscious than previous generations. They’ll have to face big challenges like climate change and global problems, but they’ll also have the tools to make a difference.
