CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The Laguna Police Provincial Office, led by P/Col. Gauvin Mel Y. Unos, achieved a significant milestone by recording zero focus crime incidents over the past two days as reported on Monday, 23 December. This accomplishment is part of the intensified security measures for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

To ensure public safety, the Laguna PNP deployed 1,045 personnel to strategic locations, including churches, transport hubs, and commercial centers. They were supported by 425 members from the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection and Armed Forces of the Philippines, as well as 12,914 force multipliers from advocacy groups.

Innovative measures like drone-assisted Sky Patrols and increased visibility through 98 motorcycle cops and 22 bicycle cops further enhanced security in critical areas.

The police also conducted operations under “Project Paskulong,” resulting in the arrest of four Most Wanted Persons and three other fugitives with outstanding warrants. Meanwhile, anti-drug operations led to the arrest of 16 suspects and the seizure of P374,345 worth of suspected shabu.

P/Col. Unos expressed gratitude to partner agencies and volunteers, saying, “The PNP will remain on full alert status, maximizing deployment and police operations to ensure the safety of our communities and tourists. I am also grateful to the agencies and volunteers who actively support our efforts this holiday season.”

The Laguna PNP’s comprehensive “IMPLAN Ligtas Paskuhan 2024” program is setting a benchmark for community safety during the festive season, showcasing the impact of collaborative and proactive crime prevention strategies.
