More than 3,000 residents gathered at Rosario Complex in San Pedro on Saturday morning to receive financial assistance under the government’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

The event highlighted the program’s role in providing emergency employment to displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers. Beneficiaries engage in short-term community service projects, including cleaning public spaces and conducting disinfection activities, in exchange for financial aid.

Senatorial aspirant Luis "Manong Chavit" Singson attended the payout event, emphasizing his commitment to public service and anti-corruption reforms.

“Every peso stolen from government funds is a peso taken from a struggling Filipino family,” Singson stated, pledging to advocate for accountability and transparency to ensure that aid programs like TUPAD effectively reach those in need.

During his speech, Singson highlighted VBank, a digital banking platform he supports, as a tool to enhance the efficiency of government aid distribution. He highlighted its potential to address bureaucratic inefficiencies and prevent corruption.

“VBank will make it easier for the government to serve the people. With transparency and efficiency, it eliminates the risks of corruption,” he explained.

The event also saw the launch of Singson’s 58-day raffle campaign, designed to inspire hope and uplift communities. Fifty-eight winners will receive P5,800 daily, culminating in a grand prize of P580,000 on the 58th day.

“This is just the beginning of what we can achieve together,” Singson remarked. “With unity, transparency, and modern solutions, we can bring real change to our country.”
