Gerona, Tarlac — Luis "Manong Chavit" Singson led the inauguration of Villa Luisa's Holy Land, a Biblical theme park, in this town on Sunday afternoon.

Singson led the inauguration along with Congressman Christian Yap in Barangay Pinaslang.

"We are honored to share this significant occasion with our distinguished guest, former Ilocos Sur Governor and senatorial candidate Luis 'Chavit' Singson," he said.

He added, "In this season of the Second Advent, we gather in faith and gratitude to inaugurate a sacred space dedicated to reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth."

Holy Land opened to the public on Sunday to coincide with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, 8 December, 2024.

The former Ilocos Sur congressman visited the stations of the cross, a floating chapel, and life-sized saints such as Padre Pio, Pedro Calungsod, and Santo Bangkay.

Singson expressed amazement at the park's Floating Chapel, which houses a collection of Marian statues.

Tarlac and renewable energy

After the inauguration, Singson held a press conference to discuss his plans for the province of Tarlac.

Among the key initiatives, Singson highlighted the development of renewable energy sources as a priority he aims to discuss with local officials. When asked about the current state of power in the province, particularly the lack of reliable sources, Singson shared his capability to provide solar power if needed, citing his successful implementation of solar irrigation systems in Ilocos Sur.

"This helped improve agricultural productivity in the province, and will certainly be a big help to the agricultural sector of Tarlac," he said.

Singson further emphasized his advocacy for solar energy solutions, expressing his desire to extend the initiative to Tarlac and the rest of Central Luzon.

“By investing in alternative energy, we can ensure a more stable power supply and avoid the disruptions that hinder local businesses and everyday life,” he said.
